Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at 11:00AM On Friday, July 29, 2011, The Sams Law Firm obtained an $8 million jury verdict in Gwinnett County in a case arising out of the March 9, 2009 wrongful death of Paul Russell. Warren Sams and David Sawyer tried the case, along with Shean Williams from the Firm of Cochran, Cherry, Givens, Smith, Sistrunk & Sams, P.C. This is reported to be the largest wrongful death verdict in the history of Gwinnett County that has not been overturned on appeal.
Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at 4:54PM The Sams Law Firm successfully arbitrated claims on behalf of a general contractor who was wrongfully terminated from a construction project. The defendant owner alleged breach of contract, breach of warranty, defective work, fraudulent overbilling, and other claims. After a week long arbitration, the arbitrator awarded The Sams Law Firm's client its contract balance, plus amounts for interest and attorney's fees.
Sunday, September 12, 2010 at 7:30PM The Sams Law Firm successfully recovered $1 Million from the federal government when representing a prisoner with a seizure disorder who became paralyzed when he fell off of a top bunk. The prison medical staff had assigned the prisoner a bottom bunk pass due to the prisoner's proclivity for seizures.
Sunday, September 12, 2010 at 7:30PM Defective installation of a BUS Duct in a Dallas office tower built owned a Firm client caused the BUS Duct to catch fire and fail. The office tower lost power and air conditioning as a result of the BUS Duct Failure. The cost of providing temporary power, in an of itself, totaled in the six figures. The Firm assisted with determining the cause of the BUS Duct failure and obtaining reimbursement from the responsible party.
